THE MANDATE
Tasked by a leading micro-mobility platform to find a "third way," Agaleyn sought to move beyond the corporate-standard, high-risk instinct of demanding immediate national reform or bypassing existing laws. We were engaged to support the business in locating a testing ground where innovation could be demonstrated safely without triggering a regulatory shutdown.
THE DESIGN
We began by aligning on shared values, while mapping "red lines" and "gray areas" to find the necessary breathing room. Upon identifying pilot-friendly sites, we developed creative legal interpretations within those gray areas that would enable the pilot to expand and then scale. This ability to quickly switch between understanding business needs, preserving legal flexibility, and maintaining a “policy first” mentality remains a staple of our strategy playbook today.
We continue to add to our playbook in helping clients manage regulatory risk through establishing long-term stakeholder credibility and maintaining business needs.
